Please read and acknowledge these rules:
- First of all: respect the posting order. When a thread's started and each person has posted once that is the expected post order. The only time it's acceptable to skip over someone or pass them up is if they expressively give their consent for the next person in line to post - this goes for every scenario and to be fair to every player. I don't care if people speed post so long as person B and C don't keep going even after person A logs off the forum for the evening only to return and find out their character's been standing there looking stupid for two pages. These posts will not count towards your level if this happens
- Make posts believable – this means keeping actions to a believable amount (no walking some long distance, buying supplies, standing off to the side to observe for an hour, and then coming back to say you also Pked a whole party yourself or ran through a dungeon single-handedly – you’ll actually have to play that all out then.) And I mean this in the middle of a thread, as that makes no sense to jump that much. If you’re soloing this is fine, but try not to do too much in group threads so people have a chance to respond.
- Common sense dictates this: No God Modding. Meaning no auto-hits as people have the right to try and dodge an attack when/if possible, and no controlling other people’s characters – that’s their job. You have a total of three strikes and then it’s a ban for a day if you continue to do this. If need be talk to the person first and get their okay, but if complaints start rising up punishment will ensue.
- For the love of all that is sacred use proper grammar/speech to the best of your abilities! This means we don’t care about misspellings or some misuse of grammar - word goes wrong, firefox fails for what we want, and sometimes we simply do not know - but TXT speak will be tolerated in no believable terms.
- Seeing as we’re playing as though…playing an online game, then character death is indeed possible – means you also don’t stay dead forever. The person playing can be killed…but I better not be receiving sociopath type characters either (especially frequently) – in The World is one thing but as the “Real” people is another. Short-term comas are likely possible if character is data-drained but otherwise won’t last long (event only).
- Player Killing is allowed in The World – Kestrel is well-known for having a lot of PKers – and so don’t complain to the staff but to a member of Moon Tree or other if you feel especially harassed and perhaps you’ll get some body guards for a bit. Be aware that doing this may also lead to people ganging up on you for revenge…your call…
- If you didn’t add a (current) guild to your app, then for joining one in RP you either have to ask the guild leader directly (not through PM) or get a current guild member to vouch for you and the guild leader will send you a confirmation PM as well as adding you to the group. They do hold the right to revoke your membership though if they believe you to have gone against the guild rules, ideals, or made some form of offense (proof provided from IC events). Only guild you can't join through starting applications: Icolo.
